Cleto Chiarli, founded in 1860 near Modena, is the oldest and one of the most respected producers of Lambrusco, and this bottling is its certified-organic take on Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC — the boldest, darkest of the Lambrusco family. Made non-vintage using the Charmat (tank) method, it pours a deep violet-purple with a vivid pink foam, offering aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and violets. The palate is dry and lively, with juicy dark fruit, soft tannins, and refreshing frothy bubbles that keep it light on its feet despite the deep color.
