ROCCOLO GRASSI

Roccolo Grassi is a small, quality-obsessed family winery in Mezzane di Sotto in the Veneto, run by siblings Marco and Francesca Sartori and best known for serious Valpolicella and Amarone — a philosophy they apply equally to their single-vineyard Soave, “La Broia.” It’s 100% Garganega from a two-hectare southeast-facing plot on limestone-rich alluvial soils, fermented and aged around twelve months in oak barrels of various sizes, which gives this Soave unusual weight, texture, and aging potential without burying its freshness. Expect a golden straw color and complex aromas of peach, citron, wisteria, and white flowers with flint and subtle spice, leading to a full, enveloping palate of ripe orchard fruit, melon, and tangerine balanced by bright acidity and a chalky, mineral, lightly smoky finish
